Black Grid / Construction intelligence

Deep Space

One construction operating system. Technical intelligence, field collaboration and project operations — connected.

Deep Space is the construction operating system Black Grid builds, implements and supports. Explore the capabilities reference, DS Site mobile overview and complete release changelog.

Executive Summary

Deep Space is a comprehensive Construction Operating System (OS) designed to unify the disjointed data landscapes of mid-to-large-scale commercial builders. The platform replaces digitized fragmentation with a "Single Source of Truth" (SSOT) paradigm, ensuring data entered once propagates seamlessly across the project lifecycle—from tender to site inspection.

The ecosystem is segmented into three interoperable product lines:

  • DS Pro: The technical intelligence engine for BIM and Data Analysts.
  • DS Harmony: The external collaboration layer for supply chain and site workforce.
  • DS Horizon: The operational backbone for financials, scheduling, and project management.

Product lines

  • DS Pro — Technical Intelligence

Digital engineers, BIM managers and data analysts. Model audit, parametric data, design validation and the DS Sync add-ins for Revit, IFC and Navisworks.

    DS Pro (Technical)

  • DS Harmony — Field & Ecosystem

Supply chain and site workforce. DS Site in the field, inductions, contractor and company management.

    DS Harmony (Field)

  • DS Horizon — Operational Backbone

Project managers and commercial teams. Financials, scheduling, documents and project controls.

    DS Horizon (Ops)

Strategic Architecture

The platform is built on a Unified Data Schema, enabling advanced cross-module intelligence:

  • 5D BIM: Cost Codes in Horizon link to Model Elements in DS Pro.
  • Spatial Intelligence: Locations in the LBS are shared by Harmony (inductions) and Horizon (defects), correlating safety incidents with specific work areas.
  • Unified Execution: The Action Engine aggregates tasks from Model Audits, Safety Rectifications, and Contract Administration into a single execution stream.
